Volleyball Tournament, Temple Tantrum, & Graduation Luau

We had to be up bright & early for Autumn's end of the season volleyball tournament. I was running around while they were warming up to have each of the girls come and sign the back of a picture I had printed off for each of the coaches.

There was a lot on the line today, b/c if you won 2 out of 3 then you got to advance to the next level for the championship! The other team won the first game, and we won the 2nd game. That is HUGE, b/c that's the very first game our girls have won the whole entire season!

The third game was SUPER INTENSE b/c there was some DRAMA! I was the line judge from our team, and the other team had a teenage girl (she looked to be about 13 or 14) for their line judge. Our coach felt that the 13 year old girl made a few wrong calls, so she asked that the girl be replaced with an adult. That girl went crying to her Mom and was so upset. After the game, her Grandma came over and CHEWED OUT our coach in front of the girls. YIKES!

I'm glad we didn't win so we could leave and be done. We went outside (to get away from the drama) and got a final team picture and gave the coaches their candy thank you cards & signed pictures in a frame.

I'm so thankful to these coaches for all the time & effort they put in to help our girls. It has been a great experience for Autumn, and she has LOVED getting to play volleyball.

Autumn was so rough on her ball this season that it split in the middle! She and one other girl got to pick the hairstyle for today and they couldn't decide on one, so they compromised. They all wore one braided pigtail up and one braided pigtail down! LOL!

Autumn got showered and cleaned up when we got home, and then Ashley came and picked her up to take her to brunch. They wanted to spend time together since Ashley will be leaving for college soon! They went to Autumn's favorite crepe place. I just adore Ashley and am SO THANKFUL for her. She is like a big sister to Autumn & is such a good influence and someone that Autumn can look up to. We will miss her soooooooooooo much.

They got back around 12:30, and I was going to go to the temple but I wouldn't have time to go do a session and get back before Nick had to leave for work. So, I took Autumn with me so we could go to the LDS bookstore and get some copies of the General Conference edition of the Ensign. Then, since we were so close to the temple I wanted to go walk around the outside and have a talk w/ Autumn, like we have done in the past. This time, however, it totally backfired and Autumn was a little STINKER! She was so rotten and rude to me. So much for having and spiritual & uplifting experience.

We came home and I made her go take a nap in her room. At 7:00 we went to a Graduation Luau for 6 youth that are graduating from one of the other church wards. We only knew Kylie, but were glad we were there to support her and her family.

They had gone all out and the setup was SO NICE! It was at someone's house and they had a DJ, volleyball games, lawn games. and even a Kona Shaved Ice truck where you could get as many as you want for free!

The food was amazing, too. They had all these fun treats along w/ pulled pork sandwiches, homemade mac & cheese, fruit kabobs, and all sorts of desserts.

We were only going to stay for an hour, but I was told they were going to have a Polynesian fire dancer come and perform at 9:00, so we stuck around. It was a wonderful way to end a long and busy Saturday.
