Monday ~ This book was in a donation pile at Mom’s house the other day, so I took it to read. It is SO GOOD & I stayed up until 1:30 am to finish it. It made me think of Sarah & Abraham in a while new way. What incredible trials & faith they had!
Tuesday ~ I love getting to see bright & fiery sunsets like this in Texas. The best place to see them is on the west side of the freeway b/c there are a bunch of big open fields. I miss the Utah mountains, but also love the flat Texas landscape for sunsets like this.
Wednesday ~ I woke up at 3:28 am this morning & was sick, sick, sick. When I woke up again at 7:00, I called my boss to let him know I wasn’t coming in, I took Autumn to school, I stopped by WalMart to get these supplies, and then I went home & slept for 3 hours straight! I hope it’s just a 24 – 48 hour bug. Yuck!
Thursday ~ It was “Spirit Day” at Autumn’s school today & her teacher said she could wear her cheer uniform. Some football players & cheerleaders from the high school came & read to the kids. Tonight was also “Spirit Night” at Chick Fil A & we had never been before, but the Dankins were going, plus Autumn’s teacher was going to be there. It was fun to watch her fun around and play w/ her schoolmates.
Friday ~ Autumn is OBSESSED w/ gum. If I ever want her to do something, I tell her she can earn points for gum. At church she ALWAYS asks for gum & I ALWAYS tell her she can have some after the sacrament, if she’s good. My favorite kind is this Extra gum in the mint chocolate chip flavor. Autumn knows she can’t have gum around Mimi b/c chewed up gum makes Mimi throw up!
Saturday ~ In preparing for General Conference this weekend, I had 3 questions that I wanted to have answered & I got those answered from a talk in 1996 by Pres. Hinckely (see blog post about it…I’m going to print it off and include it in the middle of this spread in an 8.5x11 page protector). Autumn & I ran some treats around to my visiting teaching ladies before conference this morning. Conference was so good today! Autumn had a cheer game between sessions. When we went to leave Mom & Dad’s tonight, my car battery was dead so we had to spend the night.
Sunday ~ Autumn & I went over to Dakins this morning for the 1st session of conference. It was fun to have breakfast & watch conference w/ them. Then I helped Mom get some food ready for her & Maggie to take to the hospital for a family in her ward. After the final session of General Conference, I watched the new episode of Downton Abbey for this week. The quote from the Dowager had me laughing out loud. I LOVE her witty one-liners!

Love that sunset shot--so cool and perfect for the season with the orange. Sorry you were sick. Sounds like my son's bug. We pretty much did the same thing--ran to the store to stock up on supplies but then he played in a tournament before being able to sleep it off. I'm not sure how he managed but he did. The drugs I gave him must have done the trick. Thankfully yours and his were short lived. Looks like a fun spirit day and night. How cool to meet up with everyone including the teacher for dinner.
I love, love, love that Women of Genesis series by Orson Scott Card, there are 2 more in the series, so be sure and read those!!! Beautiful sunset! And the Dowager always has the best comments--they should make a book of her quotes! Have a great week!
Ugh. I guess it's getting to be that season. I'm sorry you were sick. I've heard good things about that series. I may have to look it up!
