Monday ~ Tonight Autumn was telling me about a boy at school that she has a crush on. She asked me if I ever had a crush when I was her age. So, I got out my scrapbook to show her. It was so surreal to watch her read things I had written out of my 1st grade notebooks. I’m glad that Mom saved mine & that I’m saving hers, so someday Autumn’s children can read out of mine & Autumn’s and know we were once their age.
Tuesday ~ For dinner tonight we decided to try a a “hole in the wall” Mexican restaurant that someone had raved about. The food was just ok, but nothing special. Plus, it was expensive. We will NOT be going back, but at least we can say we tried it. The salsa they brought us was so spicy that it cleared out our sinuses. Autumn’s face in this pic cracks me up.
Wednesday ~ I got a raise at work at the beginning of this year (YAY!!!), but I’m still trying to be careful about spending money. So, I bought some frozen meals & cans of soup to take to work for lunch. That way I’m not so tempted to eat out for lunch, b/c that adds up fast! I already know I’m going to exceed my budget for this month b/c I need to get new tires on my car. Like Tiana says on Princess & The Frog, “every little bit counts.”
Thursday ~ Autumn LOVES Disney Junior! She likes to get her reading homework done by reading to me while I help Mom w/ dinner. That way she can watch Disney Junior as soon as we’re done w/ dinner. Her favorite shows are Sofia the First, Jake & the Neverland Pirates, Doc McStuffins, Little Einsteins & Mickey Mouse Club House.
Friday ~ Mom & Autumn met me at Costco so I could drop off my car to get 2 new tires. We went over to Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant for dinner & it was so delicious!!! Then I got my car & we walked around Costco. Mom knows this man that was selling pianos b/c he works at the temple on Thursdays w/ her & Dad. It was fun to get a special concert from him & he is so incredibly talented.
Saturday ~ I went to the temple this morning & then Sis. Lee came over so we could discuss our Laurel’s class. I just love her so much … what an amazing woman. Then I went & picked up Liz & we went to Alison’s baby shower. It was really well done & they had fun games & good food. We’re so excited for her. Then tonight we went to the local High School’s production of Annie. Gracie B. played the part of Grace & did a fabulous job.
Sunday ~ I’m so glad that Autumn let me do her hair today! Lately (ever since she got it cut short), she just puts it back w/ a headband. I know she wants to be independent & it’s hard for me to let her. We’re working on this transition together & we have our rough patches. But the most important thing is that we both know we love each other no matter what.
I had to include this cute paper that I found in Autumn’s backpack this week. I think it’s her New Year’s resolutions, and I have no idea where she came up w/ some of these. I LOVE this!
“I am not going to hit. I am not going to stick my tongue out. I am going to share with my cousins. I am going to clean my room. I am not going to watch scary shows. I am not going to yell at my Mimi. I am not going to eat sugar. I am going to not be a sassy girl. I am not going to make dirty faces. I am going to listen. I‘m going to be better at not yelling.”
I am linked up over at The Mom Creative.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY Y’ALL!!!
