Before I get into the details of the week, can I just say how special it is to me that I have a picture of myself w/ my only living Grandpa & my only living Grandma next to each other in this spread? I’m so lucky!
Monday ~ Lately Autumn’s favorite thing to do after we eat dinner is to play Slap Jack & Speed w/ cards. After we got home & I got her to bed, I went over to Mary’s at 9:30 to watch the Bachelorette. Everyone else was busy or out of town. We had popcorn & sat & talked for a while. Curt even joined us 1/2 way through. His guy’s perspective comments were so funny!
Tuesday ~ The big quilted purse that Mom gave me for my birthday was dirty, so I emptied it out & washed it. There’s a LOT of stuff in there!
Laptop
Pens
Gum
Sunglasses
Floss
Point & click camera
Wallet
Fan
Jewelry
Lotion
Lipstick
Candy
Coupons
Etc…
Wednesday ~ Let’s Go Eagles, Let’s Go!!!
Tonight was Autumn’s first cheer practice. This is an expensive investment w/ the practice outfit, white shoes, uniforms, cheer camp, etc. But, it’s completely worth every penny. The girls did great for their first practice. The 2 coaches are awesome & when they were done w/ learning their first 2 cheers, they had us all come over and tape them doing it on our phones so we can practice at home. One Mom & her daughter gave all the girls some adorable pom pom flip flops.
Thursday ~ We had a big huge Texas thunderstorm today, and I LOVE it! I stopped at Costco to get some gas & the attendant was directing cars to the next open stall. When it was my turn, he busted out some Michael Jackson dance moves and I was laughing so hard. It totally made my day. For dinner, Autumn & I met Liz & Liberty & Jacob at Cheddars. It was so fun to spend time w/ them and sit and eat and visit.
Friday ~ Mom picked Autumn up at daycare at 11:00 & took her over to Evelyn’s 5th birthday party. It was a mermaid theme & they even had a real mermaid there to take pictures with. They had games and all sorts of fun treats. Autumn even came home w/ a mermaid dress & a shell necklace. I’m so glad she got to go and have fun.

Saturday ~ I started off my morning w/ eating my Café Rio leftovers for breakfast, which was SO GOOD! Then I got cleaned up & went to see if Grandpa Johnson was home. I had to knock a few times, but he finally heard me and answered the door. We talked for an hour & both cried & cried. The Spirit was so strong and it felt very sacred in that room when he talked about Grandma Johnson. I’m so glad I got to spend some time w/ him.

Sunday ~ Today I got up & went to 9:00 church w/ Aunt Jeri & Aunt Jill. Then Rufio & I left & went up to Jeri’s to have lunch w/ Josh & Jennifer. We sat around the kitchen table and talked and ate and laughed so hard! Then Rufio & I went to the airport and got there early enough to be put on the earlier flight. I love flying w/ her b/c we got to cut to the front of the security line & board the plane first b/c had wheelchair service.
On the back of the journaling card I had to record the FUNNY story about her ordering a Bloody Mary & the flight attendant bringing her 2 of those little alcohol bottles & then having to explain to him that she meant just the can of spicy tomato juice and how she’s never had any alcohol in her life and why was he trying to get my Grandma drunk? We all had a good laugh about it and of course I had to tease her about it.
I LOVE using Design C page protectors for inserts. I can include 5 more pics and have space for a bi-fold journaling card that I keep opened up to fill that 6th spot.
Mom & Autumn picked me up at 5:00 and took me to the airport. The security line was so stinkin’ long b/c I was in Terminal D, which is the international flights terminal.
I made it to the gate just in time to go potty & board the plane. I was impressed that American Airlines gives you a whole can to drink instead of just a little bit in those small cups.
It was a good flight & I’m glad I got a window seat so I could see this cool storm. I don’t like to fly like I used to b/c it’s so scary to think you’re hurtling through the air at 32,000 feet above the Earth going 600 mph!!!
I was so glad when we landed and I got off the plane to see these GORGEOUS mountains that I’ve missed to much. I got my rental car & it was so weird to have it still be so light outside at 9:30 pm.
I went straight to Café Rio in Draper to get a sweet pork salad. They guys there gave me 2 cups of dressing b/c I raved about how much I love it and how we don’t have Café Rio in Texas. I finally got to Aunt Jill’s at 11:20 pm. I love sleeping in the bed in the peach bedroom b/c it’s so soft & comfortable.
After visiting w/ Grandpa Johnson, I drove up north to have lunch w/ Ashley& Jake & Bianca & Quincy. Ashley made a really yummy chicken tortilla soup w/ smoothies to drink. Bianca & Quincy are too cute! It was so great to see them all.
I went & got some cake bites from The Sweet Tooth Fairy & then went to Jonesy’s house at 3:00 to pick her up. Her little girls are so sweet! We met up w/ Brenner at The Clique & got pedicures. I LOVE the wall paper behind us.
Jonesy got light purple, Brenner got a coral color & I got bluish/green. It was so fun to get pampered while we at our cake bites & talked.
For dinner we went to State Street Grill & sat and talked for over 2 hours! I love it that we’re the type of friends that can go a year without seeing each other, but then pick up right where we left off when we do get back together.
I’m so thankful that Heavenly Father put us together to serve in Slovenija & that we’ve kept in touch all these years. We missed our other Slovene Sestre! They are for sure soul sisters!
I am linked up over at The Mom Creative.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY Y’ALL!!!

Looks like a great week. How fun for Autumn to go to a mermaid party with a mermaid there! So great you have such a good relationship with the old generations in your family. I can feel the love there when you talk about them.
