First of all, I can’t even believe that it’s already week 45! This year has flown by. This week had a few patriotic events mixed in w/ the regular everyday things.
Monday ~ Liz & Liberty & Jacob came over tonight for Family Home Evening. We played Just Dance 3, had a lesson, and then for dessert we had the incredible caramel sauce from Cheesecake Factory over some ice cream. It was so much fun!
Tuesday ~ I had tried going to vote early a few times but the line was always way too long and I was in a rush to get Autumn from daycare. I wasn’t going to vote since Texas is a Republican state, but then I thought about all the Suffragettes that fought for women to have the right to vote. So, I looked up voting places online and was surprised to see there was one in a hotel lobby close to my house. So, I left work 30 minutes early and went and voted. It only took 2 minutes, which included me filling out a change of address card. “Well done, Sister Suffragettes!”
Wednesday ~ Dad has this huge ladder out to put up some blinds above the front door. Autumn has been climbing it the past few days w/ one of us there to watch her. Today she “broke her record” and went higher than she’s been before.
Thursday ~ Nick is employee of the month at work this month and he’s so excited b/c he gets a special parking spot at the front of the store. Dad made Nick his own “Parking for Employee of the Month” sign at the end of the driveway. We’re so proud of Nick & he definitely deserves it.
Friday ~ Autumn’s school had a Veteran’s Day program and they had invited any Veterans to come. Dad came all dressed up in his uniform, and only 1 other guy from the 30 Veterans that were there did that. After the assembly they had a nice breakfast for the Veterans, and then Dad got to go to Autumn’s class and talk to them about his service in the military. Autumn loved having him there.
Saturday ~ Today was full of lots of running around. I took Jocey & her aunt to the airport to go to Utah for a funeral. Then I treated myself to the $1 Jewelry store b/c I haven’t been there in a long time. It was lunch time already, so I stopped and got a Cabana Bowl for Nick & I. We played Just Dance 3 and then I chaperoned a youth dance tonight.
Sunday ~ Mom & Dad & Autumn got back from Austin tonight. Nick & I were playing Just Dance 3, so we got Dad & Autumn to play w/ us. Dad beat all of us even though this was his first time ever playing! There’s nothing that man can’t do.
I wanted to include an old time picture of the Suffragettes to fill the Tuesday spot this week. I put my voting sticker on top of the plastic sheet and really like the impact this spot gives to represent something so important.
I am linked up over at The Mom Creative.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY Y’ALL!!!

Cute pages, I like the idea of using a suffrage picture. :-)
LOVE the suffragette picture! That idea resonates with me as well - Alabama's a republican state, so I figured my vote wouldn't matter much, but then I reminded myself how important it is that we exercise that right!
Such a great idea to use the suffragette picture. A wonderful reminder of why it's so important to vote.
